Athens

We weren't as enthusiastic about Athens as any other part of our trip... We were only here a day, and that was enough. Our hostel was walking distance to the Acropolis, which was the only thing we were interested in so that was perfect. We were both still a little under the weather and tired from our 2am ferry ride, so relaxed at the hostel most of the day after visiting the Acropolis. We took a risk and tried Mexican food, and we won't be doing that again. It was probably the first really bad food we had had on the whole trip. Athens was just a stopover for us and we were fine with that, but we were both glad we had time to at least see the Acropolis or what is left of it!

This part of the acropolis has been renovated and is used for concerts!

  1. Yup, that's what I've heard too. My friends who have been warn to not spend more than a day in Athens, it's just not worth it other than to see the ruins. So good job! Sounds like you did it right, island living all the way!!
